Description:

Created by Legends of Sports, this A3 size print combines a striking image of Jones playing at the Open championship plus a potted biography of his life and career to produce a truly stunning and unique print.

Born on 17 March 1902 in Atlanta, Georgia, his father was a lawyer. Winner of 13 major titles between 1923-30 including all four available to him in 1930 to secure the 'Impregnable Quadrilateral', as it was famously dubbed.

Jones was the Gentleman Golfer who as an amateur dominated the game in the Twenties and is one of the true immortals of sport. His achievements on and off the golf course are quite remarkable. Blessed with a fierce intellect as well he earned degrees in Engineering, English and Law whilst at his sporting peak.

And his dark good looks earned him a Hollywood contract with Warner Brothers to make a series entitled "How I Play Golf."

Jones was also one of the prime movers behind the creation of the "ideal course" which became The Augusta National and the First Annual Invitation Tournament staged in March 1934 has evolved into The Masters, the only major tournament to be played at the same venue each year.
